1. Acceptance
By creating an account, subscribing to a paid tier, or calling the API, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.
2. What the service is
LoadConsensus aggregates public-domain power forecasts and related infrastructure data for the United States — federal sources (EIA, NERC, NREL), the seven US RTOs, state public utility commission filings, and announced datacenter projects — and presents them in a cross-source view with revision tracking. It is an information product, not a recommendation engine, not a trading system, and not a regulated financial advisor.
3. Your responsibilities
- Don’t scrape the website. Use the API instead — it’s cheaper for us, faster for you, and the data is the same.
- Don’t resell or redistribute our aggregated data without an API license that explicitly permits redistribution. The underlying public-domain documents are of course not ours to license, but the cross-source rollups, revision histories, and datacenter attributions are.
- Don’t use the service to harm others, evade rate limits, attempt to access accounts that aren’t yours, or otherwise misuse it.
- Keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account, including API keys minted from it.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Paid tiers are monthly recurring subscriptions, billed in advance by Stripe in US dollars. You can cancel at any time from /account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — we do not pro-rate refunds for partial months. If a charge is the result of clear fraud or a billing error on our side, email billing@loadconsensus.com and we’ll fix it.
We may change pricing for new subscriptions at any time. For existing subscriptions, we will give at least 30 days notice by email before any price change takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.
5. API usage
- API access is available at Pro tier and above. Each key has a per-day request quota documented at /api-docs.
- Your account is responsible for every key minted from it, including bills for overage and any abuse from those keys.
- Don’t resell raw API responses or rebuild a competing product on top of our feed without a written agreement. Building internal tools, dashboards, or research workflows for your own organization is fine and encouraged.
- If we detect abuse — burst patterns clearly designed to harvest the full corpus, key sharing across organizations, or attempts to bypass rate limits — we will suspend the key and contact you. Repeat abuse forfeits the subscription with no refund.
6. Accuracy disclaimer
Forecasts published by LoadConsensus are aggregated from public sources, including government agencies, regional transmission organizations, and state regulatory filings. Those sources are revised, restated, and sometimes withdrawn. LoadConsensus does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any forecast. Do not rely on this data for individual investment, hedging, procurement, siting, or operational decisions without independent verification against the underlying source documents. The service is provided “as is” and “as available.”
7. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from /account, or by emailing privacy@loadconsensus.com. We can suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms — typically after a warning, immediately in cases of clear abuse, security threat, or non-payment.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LoadConsensus and its operator are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages arising out of your use of or reliance on the service. Total aggregate liability for direct damages is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing here is intended to limit liability where it cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by good-faith correspondence is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
